Apple announced in newspaper ads that there have been over 300 million apps downloaded from the Apple App Store. iPhone and iPod Touch users apparently haven’t let the slow economy deter them from downloading apps at a record breaking pace. Apple has also confirmed that the app store had indeed passed the 10,000 app mark. The app store has only been open since July (for about 5 months) and it debuted with about 500 apps. Since that time, the iPhone has managed to beat out the RAZR and Blackberry as the number one selling phone in America and the number one business phone respectively.
