The iPhone 3G has been out less than a year and rumors are already saying that a 32GB Apple iPhone 3G is on the way. A tip from a third party iPhone accessory maker brought this rumor to life. They also said that Apple may be dropping their 8GB iPhone 3G all together. The anonymous tipster said that Apple plans to announce these big changes at MacWorld 2009. Samsung recently introduced a 32GB NAND chip that would work well with the iPhone so this rumor has some truth to it. Other rumors claim Apple has been amassing these new chips for some time to be used in the new 32GB iPhone 3G. Rumors also claim that the new Intel 64GB chip that was recently released may be going into the iPod touch.
Another rumor that has been all over the internet and iPhone blogs is the speculation of an iPhone nano. New rumors claim that the iPhone nano will become a reality in 2009. This new iPhone nano is said to include less features and capacity, possibly just 4GB of space, but it will be quite a bit smaller as well. It may not be positioned in the highly competitive smart phone segment either, instead Apple may be trying to tackle the lower priced phone market. It is said that the iPhone nano may go for $99 but will not include GPS, the iTunes store or the App Store so it won’t be a direct competitor to the popular iPhone 3G. Stay tuned for any news regarding Apples plans for the new iPhone and iPhone nano.
