Apple has their fingers in everyone’s pies, from the music business, smart phones, computers and now TV subscriptions. It seems Apple has been pitching their $30 a month TV subscriptions via iTunes to various TV networks for quite some time. Analyst are emphasizing that this will be via iTunes, not Apple TV. With more than 100 million iTunes account holders and counting it would make sense to offer this service through one of their more successful product lines.
By offering this potential TV service via iTunes both Mac and PC owners can take advantage of it. But will broadcasters go along with it? It is said that Disney may be the first, mostly because Steve Jobs is major shareholder. It will take more than just Disney to get any sort of Apple TV service to be successful however. Will current cable companies attempt to fight back? And will the Internet slow to a grinding halt as more and more people start to stream HD content?
