An anonymous source has been cited saying that Apple is currently working on an update that will allow users to download directly HD TV shows onto their Apple TV. When iTunes 8 was released last week, it brought with it HD-quality shows. This enable users to view HD-quality shows on any computer or their Apple TV. But the Apple TV doesn’t have the ability to download HD-quality shows directly from the iTunes store. So in order to address this issue, as well as many other issues with the Apple TV, Apple is apparently working on an update that should resolve these very issues, such as decoupling HD content from SD.
