iPhone1 300x224 iPhone 3.0 Slows iPhone 3G

iPhone 3.0 has been getting great reviews when installed on the new iPhone 3G S. Maybe its the faster hardware, but it seems that there are reports of the iPhone 3.0 firmware slowing down when operating on the iPhone 3G. Other users have also reported that the battery life has been significantly drained as well with the new iPhone 3.0. Some apps may also fail to work as developers have not updated them. The iPhone 3.0 firmware presents many problems to jailbreakers whose apps are not updated as often nor in as efficient of a manner and may require the user to redownload the app in the first place. Have any of you experienced any problems with the iPhone 3.0 firmware? If so feel free to share with us!

Yeah. Just about everything is slowing down. I have the iphone 3G, not jail broken. My wifi doesn’t want to stay connected. My texting is not responsive anymore. Getting to read my incoming text messages takes about 5 secs to load. What’s going on here? I thought 3.0 was supposed to enhance my iphone experience.

Yeah, everything has seemed to slow down. When I used to write an email the auto fill of the name would happen immediately, now I have to pause and wait a few seconds for it to catch up. Very annoying when im used to just zipping through things. Texts are the same way, when I get one I have to wait a few seconds for it to load….Its a pain in the ass when youre used to having the phone keep up with you all the time, I hope this fix this shit.

Everything is slower, not just texting.

    Do something about it.

Indeed, my 3G became considerably slower since I’ve upgraded to 3.0. I thought it was because it is the jailbroken version, but apparently people with unjailbroken 3.0 are complaining about the same. Apple is releasing an update sometime soon (3.1) but I don’t think this problem will be addressed…

I am not impressed at all with the 3.0 upgrade, my iPhone is a lot slower on everything and not just a little bit more slow … takes up to a min sometimes to launch the App store.
I hope they fix it because I am not impressed !!

  • Way too slow, wtf

Wow, I updated the OS 3.0 and everything seems to be running half the speed. All the games are not even playable due to the slowness of the response. I hated it and wished I hadn’t upgraded to 3.0 before reading these posts.

    OS 3.0 sucks…

  • Phenaum

I have the same problems and am just now reading I’m not the only one… I think they made the 3.0 slower to make the 3.0 S seem faster…

  • hosoji

When i updated, i thought my iPhone 3G was stalling because i had too many apps on it. I soon discovered that the problem was not the apps but OS 3.0.
Some posts here suggest that games are “unplayable”. I don’t know if I would go that far but the iphone experience has defiantly taken a hit.
I hope Apple consider their 3G user-base when releasing 3.1
    Surely this can be addressed.

  • 3.0 we won’t go!

My 3G texting was already a bit slow but is now ridiculous. I think a 486 could process texting faster than this thing. Very very disappointed in 3.0 :(

Funny how this works. I guess the 3GS will seem fast if you cripple the 3G. Great marketing strategy. I love my phone, but the reduction in speed is extremely annoying. I didn’t notice immediately because I was so excited about the update. Then as the days went by I thought it was just me w/ the problem. This is pretty unbearable. I promise I won’t buy a 3GS to fix this issue, because this is negligent on Apple’s part if they did this on purpose. I will break a contract in a heartbeat. I’ll give them till Christmas to fix this or I’m done w/ AT&T and their “Barely There” signal.

We need some folks to inspect the paging functions in the kernel.

Slower and less stable. Horrid update there needs to be a class action against apple.
