iPhone 3G Unlocked!

You’ve been waiting for it patiently and you will soon be rewarded. The iPhone Dev Team have just announced that they have successfully unlocked the iPhone 3G! The program is now being packaged into a easy-to-use application like Quickpwn and the team is targeting a release at the end of the month. Of course the warnings about updating to firmware 2.2 were true. The unlock will only work with those iPhone 3G‘s with baseband of 2.11.07 or earlier. You will also first have to jailbreak your iPhone 3G before you can unlock it. Of course you can do a restore if you feel that you absolutely must unlock your iPhone 3G. Quick word of warning though, if you are planning to use T-mobile after you’ve unlocked your iPhone 3G, be warned that T-Mobile’s 3G operates on a different frequency than AT&T which means the hardware in the iPhone 3G may not be compatible with T-Mobile’s 3G service!. With that said, expect the iPhone 3G unlock to be released around New Year’s Eve! We’ll keep you up to date on any more developments regarding the iPhone 3G Unlock!

  3. Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor. Have you tried the ipad? you can get one free at FreshGiftCard.com
