The iPhone 3GS is not officially jailbreakable according to the iPhone dev-team. However, some have begun to question the purpose of jailbreaking the iPhone 3GS. Since the firmware update included push notifications and copy & paste and now that AT&T has announced both tethering and MMS, there may not be as much of a reason to jailbreak the iPhone 3GS. Still, one important factor is jailbreaking for the purpose of unlocking the iPhone 3GS itself. As an AT&T customer myself, I can attest to the increasing number of dropped calls. While 3G reception has improved noticeably since I first purchased my iPhone 3G, the addition of iPhone 3GS sets into the network may slow it down over time once again.
