Apple has been king of the smart phone castle ever since they released their iPhone and newer iPhone 3G. They currently have the largest share of the smartphone market based on data traffic according to AdMob. The iPhone enjoys 33 percent of tracked requests in the world and 49.5 percent in the United States alone. The Nokia N70 is far behind the iPhone at just 7.1 percent with the BlackBerry Curve 8300 with 9.1 percent in the US. Even further from the top is the new T-Mobile G1 and Verizon’s BlackBerry Storm at 5.2 and 7.1 percent, both smart phones were suppose to knock the iPhone off its high horse but failed. In the mobile device market as a whole the iPhone still leads at 11.2 percent with the iPod touch at second place with 6.7 percent and the Motorola RAZR at 2.9 percent. The smartphone market is hot and Apple is dominating the competition even in the lower end non smart phone mobile device market. These numbers are astounding and it looks like the battle isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
