iPhone Firmware 2.1 Beta Hints at Added Copy and Paste Feature

The iPhone Firmware beta 2.1 that was released to developers earlier last week is rumored to be showing signs of having a copy and paste feature. As MacNN found:

One notes that in exploring the Localizable.strings entry under English.lproj in the current iPhone WebKit framework, there are entries for several commands the firmware does not currently support, including cutting, copying and pasting.

Apple’s own Steve Jozwiak had earlier implied that the ability to copy and paste text would eventually be coming to the iPhone, but noted that it wasn’t the greatest of priorities. In addition to this, an Apple engineer reported that a copy and paste feature was in the works, but they had not decided how to implement it yet.
