The Jailbreak process has really gotten very refined since it first began and PWNAGEtool is one of the most user friendly GUIs to use. *Make sure that you meet the following requirements before you begin!

*Back up all your information on the iPhone including contacts!!

*You have an iPod Touch first generation, iPhone 2G, or iPhone 3G. This will not work for the iPod Touch 2G, iPod Touch 3G or the iPhone 3GS.

*You have downloaded the 3.1 firmware. You can download firmware files here!

*Your device is connected to the computer and it is already running the 3.1 firmware.

*Your computer is a Mac, right now this only works for Macs.

*You’ve downloaded the PwnageTool software from the dev team.

Chances are you’ve done this before so basically after the firmware is uploaded onto your iPhone, you can boot your iPhone and you will find Cydia in there. Again, this process is not perfect but the key is persistence if you want to get it to work. If at first you fail just try again. It isn’t abnormal for people to get it on their second or even third tries!

    Hello, i am thinking about Jailbreaking my G2 Ipod touch, But if i do this and do not like it, would there be a way to un-jailbreak it? And if so, how?

    Yes you can. You would simply restore it to factory default in iTunes.

    wait so i just got my ipod touch around a week ago its the 2g idk what firmware it came with but i do knw that its version 3.1.1 and i have itunes 9 but i just need to knw if i can jailbreak it cuz this is a big part of the reason i got my ipod was thinking that i could jailbreak it and if i can send me an email or post on here tysm

    Hey, some of you just sux. Haha, like its there fault you purchased a Touch “just” to hack :) And like they better “hurry up” and get a hack for it (because you didn’t research enough to find that the hacks not out yet)…or you update as soon as you get the purdy thing out of the box.Hahahaha….I laugh all the time when I read these. Muahahahaha. Get real!!

    hey every one with all these devices if your still on 3.0 I’ve already jailbroken it, it worked for a day then cydia failed (I don’t know why) but when u jailbreak it the DFU mode part is the most crucial
    and here’s a tip if redsn0w crashes or somthing else happenes reapeat the DFU process

    I cant wait for this to be jailbroken, Im getting mine in a few weeks I already sold my laptop so Im hoping this thing lives up to the hype.
