So you didn’t camp outside your local Apple store for a few days to get an iPhone, looks like you’ll have to wait until August. With the iPhone selling out worldwide, about one million have been sold so far, and demand still through the roof some analyst have speculated at shortages lasting into August. Seems Apple wasn’t fully prepared for the demand the iPhone has created with its higher speed and lower price compared to the first generation iPhone. A major reason for the quick sell out is that for the first time the iPhone is available worldwide at the same time it’s been launched in the U.S.
It will take some time for more iPhones to come through the supply lines, in the mean time AT&T will allow customers to pre-order their iPhones and pick them up once they’re available. No camping on the sidewalk is necessary.
