Orange of France was suppors to be the exclusive carrier for the iPhone 3G in France, but the war losing French prohibit a carrier lock to go more than 6 months. Other French carriers sued as well about Orange’s exclusive deal with Apple. The Competition Council in France decided that any French carrier should be able to offer the iPhone 3G (not surprising for France). French carrier FNAC has started to sell the iPhone 3G in France, but they’re unlocked iPhone 3Gs. We don’t know if they’re unlocked completely or only unlocked for local carriers in France. You can buy these unlocked iPhone 3Gs in France for about $1,122 for the 8GB abd $1,262 for the 16GB.
