itunes indie 300x187 iTunes indie store

iTunes has added a new section to their store dedicated to independent artists. Fans of indie music no longer have to sift through tons of music to find those few good songs. The move is expected to present significant competition to the smaller independent record stores. Apple recognizes that the term “indie” has been gaining popularity. Indie artists already generate a respectable amount in the iTune store but there is no doubt that the execs at Apple see a potential for much more profit. While small record stores might hurt, this will could only benefit many great indie artists.
