The iPhone might be taking the rest of the world by storm but Japan is not impressed. The otherwise sensational Apple handset is having such a hard time selling in Japan that one company is even offering it up for free with a two year contract! For those of you interested, the Japanese carrier Softbank is responsible for the “iPhone for everybody” campaign which gives out free 8GB iPhones. Analysts have concluded that the reasons behind the iPhone’s failure in Japan is due to the Japanese market, which has had high tech phones for a while now. Also, the iPhone lacks a few key features that the Japanese enjoy on their phones such as TV, video recording, and MMS.
