MyWi 176x300 MyWi turns iPhone into Wi Fi hotspot, enables tethering

If you’re looking for a way to tether the iPhone internet connection to another device like a laptop, MyWi will come to the rescue at $9.99 from the jailbroken app store known as Rock Your iPhone! At first glance, this app seems too good to be true. MyWi will turn your iPhone into a Wi-Fi hotspot from which other devices such as laptops or an iPod Touch.

This will also enable tethering off whatever connection your iPhone currently has whether its 3G or Edge. It’s a bit pricey but the potential utility of this app is obvious.

MyWi current comes with a 10 day free trial so if you want to give it a whirl without forking over the money, you can. On a related note, the Rock app store is actually pretty amazing. It is sleek like the app store by doing away with a lot of the technical jargon of Cydia.

RICARDO: Maybe it was a temporary problem for 3.1.X firmware, but it sure works now. I have 32GB Iphone, 3Gs, have good AT&T 3G signal, and this app works fine. I had to respring (didnt work), then reboot, then re-enable MyWi before it worked, but it *does* work with 3.1.2 firmware now (jailbroken / unlocked with blackra1n)

Does this circumvent the monthly charge from AT&T for tethering? Or will they bill me for it if they see me using my laptop with my iPhone connection?
