0No TomTom car kit until October

The TomTom app for the iPhone was first revealed at the WDC earlier this year. They followed it up with a demonstration of the entire car kit. The car kit features a mount with speaker amplifier and hands free calling as well as a receiver which boosts the GPS capabilities of the iPhone.
While TomTom was not the first company to have a navigation app in the app store, it represents one of the most mainstream GPS companies to go to the iPhone. The app and the car kit will cost roughly $200. Unfortnately, the car kit will not be available until October presumably for quality assurance purposes;
“the TomTom car kit availability was originally planned for this summer. But we have decided to take some extra weeks in order to deliver the highest quality on this innovative product. So, the car kit will become available this October.”
If you’re looking for a GPS and already own an iPhone, this is a no-brainer.
