orb 207x300 Orb application streams videos from PC to iPhone/iPod Touch

A newly released application called Orb has hit the Apple App store and it a lot of other companies may not be happy about it. The Orb iPhone application basically allows the user to stream videos from their PC to the iPhone. So it could stream any saved videos, Youtube videos, and live television if your PC has a television tuner. The application also allows users to access live internet television and cable/antenna television, which is the first of its kind. The problem with this application is that it directly competes with the SlingBox application, which has the same features, and AT&T. It may look like Apple might reject the Orb application on the behalf of AT&T, who is currently trying launch their own similar feature for the iPhone. Apple recently rejected Cast Catcher, which is similar to AOL Radio and Pandora, saying the application “transfer(s) excessive volumes of data over the cellular network.” The application can be downloaded at the Apple App store for $10 or you could try their free demo.
