After a judge ruled in favor of Apple against cloner company Psystar, it was Psystar who owed 2 plus million big ones to Apple for the cloning of Mac OS on their computers. Shortly after the ruling was announced the Psystar website was offline. It is not clear if the site went down because of the ruling or not, but I leave that speculation to you.
Today, the Psystar site is back online, their products are listed as out of stock – not because they’ve sold it all, but because the court ruling has put a halt to the sale of there product.
However 2 different comments from 2 different legal representatives of the Psystar company have us all puzzled. Psystars lead legal counciler, Kiwi Camara, told Computerworld that Psystar would continue to offer its Open computers with Windows or Linux as operating system options, however such items are not listed for sale.
An earlier quote from Psystar attorney Eugene Action, was that Psystar will soon fire its 8 employees, and that Psystar President Rudy Pedraza, will soon be “shutting things down immediately.”
However even more recently from lead representation of Psystar, Kiwi Camara claims that Eugene Action was misquoted,
“Regrettably, Mr. Action was misquoted in an early story that seems to have been picked up elsewhere, Psystar does not intend to shut down permanently.”
