iON 1 Review of the iON Mobile Power Bank

When I use my iPhone throughout the day I’m never surprised to see the battery in the red after I get home, it seems if I use my iPhone for more than just phone calls the battery is drained out quick. One way to prevent this is to: a) only use the iPhone for phone calls, and only when you really need to, b) turn off the 3G network, push notifications and turn down the brightness, or c) get an external battery pack.

Now there are quite a few battery pack chargers and cases out there, but they’re usually pretty pricey. The iON Mobile Power Bank from FSP is a new addition to the mobile device battery pack market, and at only $30, it definitely won’t break the bank. The iON Mobile Power Bank comes with a plush carrying case and includes the 1500mAh capacity battery pack with LED indicator lights, and both a USB and iPhone dock adapters. The iON Mobile Power Bank should work with any iPhone or iPod device as well as any other gadget (at 5V or less) that charges via a USB connection. Making it very convenient for travelers, campers, hikers, students, or anyone who might not have a power source close by.

The iON Mobile is about the size of a credit card and is a bit thinner than the iPhone and weights in at only .05lbs, and features a rubberized surface making it easy to carry. It also gives it a sleek and high-quality look. It actually looks like a device that costs more than twice as much. FSP claims that you can recharge the iON Mobile Power Bank up to 500 times, so it should be usable for quite a while. The iON Mobile Power Bank gives your iPhone 3G and 3GS just under 10 hours of additional talk time, and your iPhone 2G about 15 hours of additional talk time. If you’re using an iPod nano the iON Mobile Bank can give you an impressive 50 hours of music playback time. Not bad at only $30. It also has a built-in USB input cable that folds into the battery pack that you use to recharge it, this is a real nice touch, as it is just one less cable to lose.

The iON Mobile Power Bank is perfect for those on the go who need to give their iPhone, iPod, BlackBerry or any other mobile device a quick charge. Check them out at www.shopfsp.com.
