Apple Tablet2 300x204 Survey suggests interest in Mac tablet

While Apple has never announced plans suggesting at a tablet or similar computer priced in the budget range, research suggests that such a device would be very popular with Apple consumers. A survey conducted by RBC IQ/ChangeWave has revealed promising figures for Apple’s sales as well as a general interest in a hypothetical tablet device that dwarfs similar speculation about the iPhone before its launch back in 2007.

Ever since Snow Leopard was released, sales figures have demonstrated that Apple’s share in the computer market is growing rapidly and they may continue that way for quite some time.

As you can see from the picture above, if trends continue, 2009 may prove to be another record breaking year for Apple computers and with the Mac OS gaining traction for consumers, they may become more receptive to similarly themed operating systems. Simply put, if the presence is felt, people may take the time to learn to use the OS and they may end up switching over to its more easy to use and intuitive style.

The graph above details the number of iPhone units shipped in the millions. Predictions are that the iPhone will sell over 54 million units in 2012 which would equate to an over 4.1% rise.  Another question dealing with potential interest in an Apple tablet had 21% of people interested in purchasing the tablet.  Compare that with a measly 9% who were interested in an iPhone before its launch and one can’t help but ask the question; “Apple, why not make a tablet already??”
