Voice translator for the iPhone

Apple News

The iPhone is truly a remarkable device, it seems like it can do almost anything these days. Pretty soon it will be the go to voice translator. The translation company Sakhr is working on a translation app or their own. With big clients like the U.S. Department of Defense and Homeland Security Sakhr has made a name for themselves in the translator technologies world with their speciality in English/Arabic translation. The demo in the video above is for their iPhone and Blackberry translator app. The software captures the words to be translated through speech recognition and then translates it into text in either English or Arabic and then reads it out loud. There are still some bugs to work out, but it’s just one more step closer to a universal translator like out of Star Trek!
