iphone-clone2

A new iPhone clone out of China called the ePhone M8 was recently revealed. On the outside it looks very similar to the iPhone 3G but once you look at the specs you can definitely tell the differences. The touchscreen isn’t a full touchscreen like the iPhone, but you can hand write on it. Also, there is no 3G for the iPhone clone so don’t expect the super fast network speeds. The screen is 3.2-inches at 240×430 and plays MP4 and 3GP video. It features a 1.3 MP camera that takes video as well unlike the iPhone. You can also send MMS (picture) messages. It features a memory card slot and comes with a 1GB TransFlash (similar to microSD). Its main feature is its dual SIM card support. The ePhone M8 go for $160. So if you’re still debating about the iPhone 3G vs 2G now you have another contender to think about.

Now some companies are taking it one step further by creating iPhone cases that will improve gaming for the iPhone even more. Here is a prototype for the iControlPad, a gamepad case to be used specifically for iPhone gaming. Word is this prototype will actually be put into production giving gamers proper controls for the iPhone. The final version will be black and will have the same configuration as in the image. Pricing or a release date has not been set.

inspiretech iphone nano

With all the iPhone Nano rumors going around and the leak of XSKN’s iPhone nano product page, I did a little bit of searching online to see who else is planning to release any iPhone Nano products. Other than XSKN, I couldn’t find much about any upcoming iPhone Nano goodies from any of the iPhone accessory manufacturers out there. I did however find one other site, it looks like the folks over at Inspiretech may be producing a few accessories for the iPhone nano as well. They have an iPhone Nano Accessories page up, but unlike XSKN, they haven’t revealed any product images as of yet. We’ll keep checking back to see if they have any iPhone Nano cases on the way. Stay tuned for any other developing iPhone Nano news. Check out Inspiretech’s iPhone Nano Accessories page at Inspiretech.com.

jordaniphone

Add another country to the iPhone list, the iPhone 3G was just released in Jordan. It is being sold exclusively by the wireless company Orange. Jordanian customers will have to start a one year contract with three plans available ranging from $43 to $115 (30JD to 80JD). Jordan is the second Arabic-speaking country to get the iPhone, Egypt was the first. The iPhone is still doesn’t support the Arabic language very well however. Even with the iPhone 2.0 softeware added many languages to the iPhone, Arabic is still not fully optimized. The iPhones display can’t be viewed in Arabic and you cannot text in Arabic either. Hopefully Apple fixes this problem because the Middle East is a large market that Apple needs to tap.

Red iPhone

Red iPhone

Paris Hilton says “its hot”. Do you think the idea of a red iPhone is hot? Apple does. I think I like the idea of a red iPhone but I think the novelty will wear off. When I get tired of people staring at the strange red gloss cell phone that sadly matches my girlfriends lipstick too closely, I’m done. I will admit when I was a young teenager, my favorite color match was Red and black.

ibreath

Ever have a little too much to drink and you’re not sure if you should drive or not, why do the responsible thing to do when you can just check if you’re drunk with a breathalyzer? The iBreath breathalyzer attachment for the iPhone will do just that! The iBreath attaches to the bottom of your iPhone 3G and will tell you what you’re blood alcohol level is, and it will also transmit music with a built-in FM transmitter while you drink the pain away. We’re not sure how accurate this device is, but I wouldn’t trust it.

iphone nano leaked images

If the iPhone Nano case renderings from China didn’t convince you enough maybe this little bit of info that we at iPhoneSpies discovered. In your web browser type in www.iphonenano.com. Where does it take you? Straight to the Apple website! Sure this isn’t hard evidence for the rumored iPhone nano that is suppose to sell for $99, but if Apple already purchased the domain name this could be a sign that the iPhone nano is indeed in the works. Why would Apple purchase the domain name if it had no intention to release the rumored iPhone Nano? It may just want to make sure someone else doesn’t buy it and use it for an unintended purpose. Or like with the iPhone 3G, it is just preparing the way for the iPhone Nano’s release. Stay tuned for any other updates and news on the Apple iPhone Nano.

apple-iphone-3g

So the rumors of Wal-Mart selling a $99 4GB iPhone 3G are untrue, the nation’s largest retailer is going to sell the 8GB and 16GB iPhone 3G for a few bucks less than the Apple Store. Like that really makes a difference. Wal-Mart is scheduled to sell the popular smart phone on December 28th for $197 and the 16GB for $297 with a contract from AT&T. Internal Wal-Mart documents also say that 488 Wal-Mart stores will get iPhone 3Gs that will go to employees who want to buy them with a small discount. Rumors also say that Wal-Mart will be selling an iPhone nano that is priced at $99 but no evidence to prove or disprove this has surfaced. Wal-Mart will be the second retailer after Best-Buy to sell the popular Apple iPhone outside of Apple Stores.

apple-iphone-3g-black

About a year ago, Taiwan’s largest mobile phone provider Chunghwa Telecom, said that they were in the works with Apple to signing an exclusive deal in which Chunghwa Telecom would be the exclusive provider of the Apple iPhone in Taiwan. Well it maybe true that both Chunghwa Telecom and Apple signed a deal, but the deal is far from exclusive. According to reports, the Apple iPhone 3G handsets sold in Taiwan are unlocked. Although Chunghwa Telecom strongly states that the Apple iPhone 3G would only work with Chunghwa Telecom’s 3G network, that may not be the case with these unlocked iPhone 3Gs being sold. Customers in Taiwan said that when they inserted a SIM card from another provider, the phone worked perfectly fine. This may seem as good news for those who want to use the iPhone with a different carrier and for those counties that don’t have the Apple iPhone. But there is a catch. The price of the Apple iPhone in Taiwan is very expensive. The 8GB Apple iPhone 3G sells for NT$26,600 (~US$800). This price doesn’t even include the contract. But the fact that the phone is unlocked may seem worthy enough for some customers. This may also seem good news for developers as future iPhone software updates would unlikely make unlocked iPhone 3Gs inoperable. France and Hong Kong are already legally selling the Apple iPhone 3G unlocked.

Refurbished iphone-3g

Looking to get an iPhone 3G but can’t squeeze in the extra $50 to make that $200 price tag? AT&T is offering refurbished iPhone 3G’s for $150. The refurbished iPhone 3G’s were supposedly all returned after the 30 day trial period when users decided it was not worth the two year commitment to keep the iPhone 3G.  AT&T also claims that all refurbished iPhone 3G’s were tested for quality and come at most with a few minor scratches. They also have the 16 GB model iPhone 3G available refurbished for a price of $250. There may be one potential problem with the warranty however as it only lasts 90 days as opposed to the one year with a new iPhone.
