The LG GD910 features a 1.43 inch touch screen and phone capabilities all strapped to your wrist. If you’ve watched enough science fiction growing up, you’re probably still wondering why there still aren’t any of the cool gadgets promised to us by the year 2000 (AT THE VERY LATEST). Well, you might not have a jet pack yet but the GD910 wrist phone is on the way from LG. They even packed in a touchscreen for that extra bit of “iphone-killer-ness”. Expect to see the phone on display at CES next month. The LG GD910 also comes with 3G compatibility and a built in camera. Our recommendations, wait for the second generation with built in teleportation module.

One of the major downfalls of the iPhone is there is no copy and paste feature like on other mobile phones. Pastebud is an iPhone app that lets you copy and paste text from email and Safari. Unfortunately it has been revealed that it is sending copied emails with personal information in some instances out to random strangers. Wrong users are receiving the copied text and emails which are sent to an online clipboard with users not receiving the copied text they were trying to copy and paste. Creator of Pastebud Jed Schmidt found the problem and has fixed it.

The CEO of Peek has announced that anybody who purchases two peeks and activates them will get their November phone bill taken care of (up to $150). Peek is a gadget that allows users to access their email accounts on the go. The device does not aim at bringing down the smart phone market, but is more of an entry level gadget for the not so tech savvy. You can get a Peek for $79.95 and the monthly plan will run you $19.95 which is far lower than most data plans offered by mobile phone carriers. The deadline to order is December 1st so you better be quick about it!

To be fair, the iPhone is not single handedly responsible for all of the victims listed but the iPhone does represent the culmination of smart phone technology and its inauguration into the main stream. Smart phones have come a long way but long before the apps, there was a time when people had multiple devices in their pockets to fulfuill their mobile needs. The list is as follows:
You’ve probably wondered about the base cost of those expensive smart phones out there. The good people of iSuppli have broken down the cost of the G1 into about 143.89 for the parts and materials! Of course when figuring in the real cost of getting that phone into your hand, it would also have to include Research and Development, Marketing, and shipping so rest assure you are probably paying much less than what it cost T-Mobile… Still, some interesting facts; the most costly part inside is the
dual-ARM processor baseband: $28.49,
display: $19.67
3-megapixel cam: $12.13
The price is actually a little lower than the iPhone (which comes in at about $174.33)

The iPhone is a bit annoying for clean freaks because of its tendency to keep smudges whenever operated. The human body is remarkably greasy and even the cleanest finger will leave noticeable residue. A Japanese company has recently developed a type of smudge resistant film that will keep your favorite electronics and iPhone 3G case smudge-free. Feel free to eat KFC while you text!
Tsujiden Co. claims they have added hydrophilic and lipophilic properties to the surfaces of the film. This means that when the water and fattyacids that make up the normal smudge come into contact with the film, those molecules will become attracted to the surface of the film and spread out among it giving the illusion of cleanliness. The grime is of course still there, but will be invisible. This promises to be a great accessory for cell phone users. It might be an even better accessory for mafia hitmen who do not want to leave incriminating prints…

Ever since I acquired my iPhone, it has been slowly taking over the notebook functions in my life. I hadn’t even realized it until I read the article from the Wall Street Journal. With the ability to listen to music, watch movies, surf the internet and check email, and use the device as an iPhone Office there is less and less incentive to get a new notebook now.
It’s time to think about leaving your laptop at home.
Why is the iPhone unable to allow a computer to tether to it and allow 3G access through a real browser? The answer might be in AT&T’s poor 3G performance. According to some insiders, the horrible 3G coverage that many iPhone users have reported is due to the fact that there has been an unexpectedly high traffic rate due to the iPhone 3G on all of AT&T’s 3G network. This means that they are wary of the addition of full blown computers taking even more precious bandwidth. For these reasons, some analysts have theorized that it is probably not in the best interest of AT&T to allow tethering. The mobile phone network is already struggling to meet demands. Rumor has it that AT&T’s engineers are currently working better coverage for 3G. They going to utilize a broader spectrum of the 850 MHZ band. Introducing new frequencies should improve both coverage and capacity. So expect a boost in 3G performance within the next 6 months.

T-Mobile just released their new G1 Android phone, but who cares? In my hometown apparently nobody does as there was pretty much no one at my local T-Mobile for the G1 phones release.
Check out the long lines for the new T-Mobile G1 Android phone, and you thought the wait for the iPhone 3G was long!
Settle down everybody, there’s enough Androids for everyone!
The biggest let down of T-Mobiles release of the new G1 Android was that there wasn’t even a real G1 phone on display. All they had out was a plastic non-functioning display model. Real great way to show off the Androids features T-Mobile! The new G1 Android phone has been touted as the answer to the iPhone. All the reviews and news online seemed to be very positive, but without a functioning G1 to play with in store how will customers know? Smooth move T-Mobile.

When Steve Jobs announced that Apple has beaten out RIM in sales, it was a joyous occasion. In the span of less than two years, Apple has gone to number three in the mobile phone industry. Those record profits were also shared by Apple’s big time partner AT&T. According to AT&T, unexpectedly high sales of the iPhone have significantly boosted AT&T’s Q3 profits. Since July, there have been over 2.4 million new AT&T activations. Over 40% of those have been new customers! It is doubtful that Blackberry or any other phone company can mitigate the flood of iPhone sales any time soon.
