Very interesting to see this week’s stats from Pinch Media, showing a rise in the number of unique jailbroken users to 9.5% reportedly the higest it’s ever been. Show of the economic times maybe?
I find this a little surprising after all the security scares with jailbroken iPhones and various SSH-related hacks over the last couple of weeks, and the many of you that are fed up with the Appulous Troll Bridge riddles making it tough to get into the site sometimes. I for one think the riddles were fun.
If you’re a relative newcomer to jailbreaking, remember to take care with only installing / running the SSH service when you need to use it, and make sure you change your iPhone’s default admin passwords.
If you need help doing this or don’t really know exactly what I am talking about here be sure to check out our guide on how to protect your iDevice from hackers, it’s a walkthrough on changing your admin/root passwords.
