iPhone temperature warning

There have been way too many reports of iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS handsets overheating for Apple to ignore. While there is no confirmation as to the number of iPhones this affects, Apple has nonetheless issued out a statement to warn users. Certain resource intensive apps such as the maps app and various games tend to push the iPhone’s CPU harder and will thus generate more heat as a result. Apple also warned users not to store the iPhone in temperatures higher than 95 degrees Fahrenheit nor temperatures lower than -4 degrees Fahrenheit as this could negatively affect battery life. If you detect that the handset has gotten alarmingly hot, then it is recommended that you wait for a while before turning the device on.
