I have always loved the idea of using my iPhone with my car. Unfortunately, the only luck we’ve had in the field of Sync mobile devices with cars is with Ford’s Microsoft-powered Sync feature in the cars. As fate would have it, I deeply despise Ford for their lack of aesthetic design in economy cars. I’ll take my Toyota Matrix XR instead, thank you.
However, I recently discovered through MotorTrend that Audi is making plans to integrate Apple’s iPhone. While I’m not the biggest fan of Audi or their pricetags, I was happy to see that someone is taking steps to further integrate Apple products into the automotive experience. Though this integration will only first be available in Germany, it is likely that we will soon see it in the US. Hopefully then this will create a trickle down effect where we will start to see more iPhone and iPod integration within automobiles. I would gladly welcome this; its very difficult trying to talk on the phone and change your music while driving stick.
