iPhone 3.1 OS features

The much anticipated iPhone 3.0 OS is here and has brought us some much needed features (like copy and paste!) but the next iPhone 3.1 update is already in the works. The iPhone 3.1 software and SDK has already been released to developers so they can have first crack at it. So why a new update already you ask? Well it looks like Apple still has a few bugs to work out with the iPhone 3.0 software, don’t they always? The new iPhone 3.1 update will feature an additional speed boost, improved video editing and some other small tweaks here and there. How about MMS and tethering finally? Cough..AT&T…cough!

So what’s new with the upcoming iPhone 3.1 OS update? Check out the list below for all the new features to look out for:

1. Video editing on iPhone 3GS wont overwrite the clip over the original when you are editing a clip.
2. iPhone vibrates when moving icons
3. “Fraud Protection” toggle has been added to settings under Safari.
4. iPhone boot time is now faster.
5. Voice Control now works over Bluetooth.
6. New APIs to enable third party apps to access videos and edit them.
7. Updated AT&T profile to 4.2
8. Updated modem firmware to 5.08.01
9. Improvements to OpenGL and Quartz.
