At MacWorld yesterday Apple announced that iTunes is DRM free and that they will have a new pricing structure. They also said that you can now download iTunes music over the iPhone 3G network. We rejoiced and exclaimed it’s about damn time! Previously you can only download music straight to your iPhone or iPod touch via a Wi-Fi connection. It has been discovered however that you can download iTunes tunes via the EDGE date network as well. It will be much slower than the 3G network but it is doable. Turn off Wi-Fi and 3G to test it out yourself, or just take our word on it. It takes about 15 minutes to download a 9.3MB song which is painfully slow. Plus there is that 10MB cap on download restrictions over the 3G or EDGE network. But at least you know you can.
