SEO Search Ranking iPhone App Review

The App Store has many utility, finance, and business related apps. Some of them are pretty good, and many of them are not so good. I noticed there aren’t too many apps out there for marketers like myself, especially those in the Search Engine Optimization field. So I went on a quest to find one and there were a few, but only one of them stood out to me as being useful for webmasters and online marketers. The SEO related app I stumbled upon was called SEO Search Ranking, after looking at the preview shots in the App Store the app didn”t look like much. But after using it I was thoroughly impressed. Basically, SEO Search Ranking helps you monitor and track your websites search engine rankings within Google.

The app allows you to keep track of unlimited website domains and keywords, which is pretty nice. It keeps track of your site’s position within Google down to just the 64th spot, but if your site is at the 64th position then you have other things to worry about then why the app only tracks you that far down. The app makes use of the Google AJAX API that allows unlimited use, so you don’t have to worry about Google blocking you, which can happen with other SEO software programs. The app only supports Google, but to be honest Google is the most dominate search engine out there and it’s what brings most of a websites traffic anyways, so it’s nothing to worry about. Yahoo is pretty much dead and Microsoft’s Bing has a steep mountain to climb before its even on par with Google in terms of market share.

The SEO Ranking app is very easy to use, just add your website url, then add the keywords you are targeting for that certain url and the app does the rest for you. Every time you access the app and click on your domain the app gives you an up-to-date ranking of your keywords within Google. Click on that keyword and it displays the history and progress of your keywords in a simple graph. Your keyword rankings are also color coded which is a nice touch. If your website rose in the rankings for that particular keyword it would show the rank number in green, if you dropped in the rankings it would turn red.

The SEO Search Ranking app is one of the better SEO oriented apps out there in the App Store, I use it pretty much everyday now to check up on how my sites are doing within Google. I compared the results the SEO Ranking app gave me for my website’s keyword with a few other SEO keyword ranking programs online, as well as the actual results from a Google search. I was surprised to see how accurate SEO Ranking was, I’ve even started to refer to SEO Ranking on my iPhone for quick keyword updates over some of the SEO programs I’ve used in the past. It’s great if you’re always on the go and want a quick update on your site’s progress.

If you’re an online marketer, smalle business owner with an ecommerce store, or a veteran SEO guru, then this app is definitely worth checking out. It currently goes for $1.99 in the App Store and it’s worth every penny.
