Verizon iPhone 4 unlocked to run CDMA carriers in China, is Sprint in US next?

According to sources at the WSJ, a China cell phone carrier by the name of China Telecom has managed to get the CDMA based Verizon iPhone 4 unlocked to run on their network.  This opens up many interesting thoughts such as the possibility of CDMA being unlocked in the states to run on Sprint. Would that be something you would be interested in? Should Jailbreak developers bother?
